The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for the position of Admission Counselor, UNLV Undergraduate Recruitment. This role reports directly to the Admission Coordinator in the Office of Admissions and serves as a liaison between the Office of Admissions, academic units, and other university organizations. The Admission Counselor is responsible for outreach and recruitment of prospective undergraduate students, including conducting admission presentations, hosting workshops on the application process, participating in recruitment events, guiding prospective students and families on campus tours, making calls for admission counseling, and communicating with admitted students to ensure matriculation. The position also involves determining eligibility for admissions based on records, transcripts, and NSHE policies, and recommending educational goals and admission requirements. Admission Counselors plan and manage recruitment activities in assigned territories, implement communication initiatives for individualized engagement with prospective students, and identify potential barriers to recruiting and admitting new students, taking initiative to address them or recommending action to the Associate Director. This role may also involve providing leadership in special initiatives. Travel, both in and out of state, and irregular hours, especially during peak recruitment periods, are expected.
