About The Position

The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco are seeking on-call/as-needed TEX Admission Attendants. This role involves selling tickets, admitting patrons, and performing other related duties. The museums are the city's largest public arts institutions, comprising the de Young and the Legion of Honor. The de Young showcases American art, international contemporary art, textiles, costumes, and art from the Americas, the Pacific, and Africa. The Legion of Honor displays ancient and European art, including Auguste Rodin's The Thinker, and houses the Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Arts. Requirements

  • One (1) year (2,000 hours) verifiable experience as an admission attendant, cashier, or comparable position which requires assisting customers and handling cash on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

  • Sell, distribute, and/or collect tickets, passes, memberships, and other products.
  • Operate a cash register or computerized system to register sales transactions.
  • Set up money trays to make change for patrons.
  • Prepare deposits by summarizing receipts and preparing forms for banking.
  • Provide customer service and information to patrons and staff.
  • Assist with crowd control, counting visitors, and verifying admission receipts.
  • Assist in the issuance of will call tickets.
  • Greet and meet groups and school tours.
  • Assist with coat check and information area.
  • Maintain inventory of admission tickets, audio sets, and other products.
  • Check and ensure automated systems are functioning properly by cleaning, dusting, replacing, and/or changing receipt tapes, ticket rolls, and ink cartridges.
  • Contact outside vendors for repairs if needed.
  • Lift, carry and place 25 lb stanchions as needed for crowd control.
