The primary purpose of this job position is to direct the day-to-day functions of the facility in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern nursing facilities to assure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to our residents at all times. This role oversees the Quality care and analyzes the entire operation of the nursing facility, and is responsible for the overall operational functioning of the facility. The Administrator monitors census on a daily basis and plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates, and directs the facility’s programs and activities in accordance with guidelines issued by the governing board. This role complies and develops reporting on budget projections, revenue and expenses, and ensures budget conformance. The Administrator develops and maintains written policies and procedures and professional standards of practice that govern the operation of the facility, and holds direct reports accountable. This role is a role model for our Mission, Vision and Values, ensuring all employees, residents and families are treated with the utmost respect. The Administrator is involved in community groups and developing/maintaining relationships with local hospital leadership. They monitor industry regulations, laws, and compliance updates and makes changes appropriately. This role understands staffing level requirements and adheres to industry and company standards, and monitors and directs execution of policy and procedural changes. The Administrator is actively involved in resolving HR issues and Risk Management situations within the facility, and oversees capital improvements. They participate in Advisory committees and ensures that all facility personnel, residents, visitors, etc., follow established safety regulations, to include fire protection/prevention, smoking regulations, and infection control. The Administrator develops and maintains a stellar reputation within the industry and community, and develops relationships with their support team (HR/Therapy/Clinical/Finance) to assist in meeting/exceeding goals. This role is responsible for contract negotiations with vendors and supports Clinical efforts by understanding QA measures and holding people accountable. The Administrator keeps abreast of collections and A/R on a daily basis, and develops and executes creative ideas to increase employee engagement and minimize turnover. They understand and review Quality Measures on a regular basis. The Administrator assists in providing survey team members with additional information during the survey that may aid in preventing deficiency citations. They conduct daily meetings with appropriate staff during facility inspections to discuss survey findings and formulation of plans of action/correction. The Administrator reviews deficiencies noted during the exit conference, provides additional information that may aid in removal of the deficiency or lower the scope and severity level of a cited deficiency, and assists in developing plans of correction for cited deficiencies. This role ensures such plans incorporate timetables and methods of monitoring to ensure that such deficiencies do not recur.
