About The Position

The Admin on Special Assignment (AOSA) reports to either a school leader or a member of the Lead Learning Team and drives the continuity of instructional excellence by implementing cohesive coaching cycles for core instructional staff. This role ensures no drop in instructional quality during site-level capacity gaps (vacancies and/or leaves). The AOSA develops and coaches staff on curriculum, internalization, and planning, ensuring fidelity to school expectations. The role leads direct coaching and school culture support to advance teacher practice and align support with individual teacher coaching plans. To maximize impact, the AOSA aligns onsite support schedules with the school’s Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) cadence for seamless integration and strategic coordination. The AOSA manages additional instructional support for up to two schools concurrently for specified periods, establishing instructional and cultural stability and continuity during transitions.

Requirements

  • Clear California Teaching Credential (preferred)
  • MS in Education (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Implement cohesive coaching cycles for core instructional staff.
  • Develop and coach staff on curriculum, internalization, and planning.
  • Ensure fidelity to school expectations and continuous improvement in instructional practice.
  • Monitor and synthesize summative and formative data to align coaching plans with teacher development needs and regional protocols.
  • Hold accountability for the timely completion and effectiveness of all coaching activity, documenting progress.
  • Create and implement professional development sessions that advance teacher knowledge and skills.
  • Align on-site presence or virtual attendance with the school’s Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) cadence.
  • Shape the implementation of the school's instructional vision and priorities by collaborating across school leadership.
  • Design and lead teacher support in student support and behavior intervention systems.
  • Oversee and support essential daily school operations (e.g., arrival/dismissal, lunch/recess).
