The Admin on Special Assignment (AOSA) role at KIPP NorCal, based in Redwood City, is a full-time, exempt position reporting to either a school leader or a member of the Lead Learning Team. This role is crucial for maintaining instructional excellence during periods of site-level capacity gaps, such as vacancies or leaves. The AOSA implements cohesive coaching cycles for core instructional staff, ensuring no drop in instructional quality. Key functions include developing and coaching staff on curriculum, internalization, and planning, ensuring fidelity to school expectations. The role involves leading direct coaching and school culture support to advance teacher practice, aligning support with individual teacher coaching plans. To maximize impact, the AOSA coordinates onsite support schedules with the school’s Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) cadence for seamless integration and strategic coordination. The AOSA manages additional instructional support for up to two schools concurrently for specified periods, establishing instructional and cultural stability during transitions.
