About The Position

Accountable for effectively fulfilling the goals and objectives of the department while managing the department's resources effectively and efficiently. Specific responsibilities include all aspects of directing, development, planning, scheduling, and dealing with employee issues. The Administrator also must plan for staffing and fiscal budgeting for the department, as well as, being responsible for developing written job descriptions, hiring, training, and evaluating personnel performance.

Requirements

  • The individual must be able to work the hours specified.
  • Must have visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds.
  • Bachelor's business, nursing or related field
  • An active license in the state of practice within 180 Days
  • Minimum of 3-12 months experience in long term care
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in health service administration
  • Minimum of 2 years in a management capacity including finance management in LTC or related health program.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direction and leadership to the facility in accordance with the mission, philosophy, and strategic direction of the organization.
  • Ensures and carries out policies and procedures in the day-to-day operations of the facility.
  • Understands and operates the facility to meet the requirement for State Licensure and other regulatory agencies.
  • Is responsible for the overall management, organization, and staffing of the facility.
  • Is responsible for compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Establishes fiscal plan for department and operates within its parameters.
  • Organizes and implements goals and strategies to regularly evaluate if facility is meeting those goals.
  • Acts as spokesperson for facility to the community, residents, and families.
  • Maintains high morale among staff, inspiring teamwork through sensitive and fair leadership.
  • Exhibits decision making ability; responds to and provides direction in changing workload and in stressful situations.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
