About The Position

Mass Spec Services (MSS) ensures that all the mass spectrometers (55+ QqQ and Q-TOF), LC, SFC, and other related bioanalytical instruments are in good working order. The process is vital to the operational success of GBA and of preclinical, nonclinical, and clinical trials around the world. In this role, MSS personnel will maintain, troubleshoot, repair, help with installation, and perform IQ/OQ/PQ of bioanalytical equipment with minimum supervision, maintain a clean/safe lab, and ensure the smooth operation of the facility. The GBA department’s expertise lies in the quantitation of small molecules, oligonucleotides, peptides, proteins, and biomarkers using various mass spec techniques. We have been pivotal in supporting most of the HIV/HBV/HCV, multiple ADCs, and 9 of the last 16 oligonucleotides therapeutics approved by FDA and EMA. QPS assists pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies with their drug development efforts by providing a full range of DMPK, Toxicology, Bioanalysis, Translational Medicine, Early Phase Clinical and Phase II – IV Clinical Research services. Requirements

  • Advance degree in LC-MS (Ph.D.) or M.S. plus ≥4 years or B.S. plus ≥10 years in relevant industry experience
  • Hands-on experience in triple quadrupoles required
  • Experience with UHPLC equipment required
  • Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent or unrestricted basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Shimadzu UHPLC is a plus
  • Experience with SFC is a plus
  • A background or education in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, Microbiology is considered added value.

Responsibilities

  • Understand, evaluate, troubleshoot, and repair LC-MS/MS (QqQ) systems, LCs, and other associated bioanalytical equipment problems.
  • Perform planned preventive maintenance, calibration, and maintenance of the LC-MS/MS, LC, and other associated bioanalytical equipment.
  • Perform software (IQ/OQ/PQ) validations on all new equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts for MS and LC systems.
  • Maintain a clean/safe lab.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the facility.
