About The Position

Due to growth, we are adding a Administrator I, Application Systems to our team! The Administrator I, Application Systems ensures efforts are in alignment with IT Enterprise Services to support customer-focused objectives and the IT Vision, a collaborative partner delivering innovative ideas, solutions, and services to simplify people’s lives. This role is responsible for application administration, upgrade management, 1st level support, disaster recovery planning, and providing any other support within the vendor purchased systems used at Navitus. This role is recognized as the go-to person when technical support is required. This position will work directly with business users, internal IT, and third-party vendors to improve performance, ensure high availability of the system, and administer the overall health of the environment. This role will participate in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the systems are running optimally and maintenance is consistent with company goals, industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in the field of Computer Science or equivalent work experience required.
  • Hands-on enterprise application and hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience documenting and maintaining configuration and process information.
  • Working technical knowledge of network, PC and platform operating systems including Windows, Unix, and RedHat Linux.
  • Working knowledge of Linux Shell Scripting, Windows PowerShell Scripting, Oracle, and Microsoft database concepts.
  • Working knowledge of Release Automation processes.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws; including SSAE16, HIPPA, and URAC.
  • Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives
  • The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all environments are managed and maintained to meet service level agreements.
  • Proactive monitoring and maintenance of Linux and/or Windows system environments.
  • Provide responsive technical assistance and document configuration to support processes.
  • Work with additional functional teams to ensure optimal operations and uptime of application environments.
  • Support change control and testing processes for modifications to application systems.
  • Develop strong working relationships with third party vendors.
  • Analyze system for overall performance and give recommendations for improvements.
  • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.
  • Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
  • Quick, Efficient, and effective issue resolution with proactive communication to all stakeholders.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform improvements, patches, and reconfigurations.
  • Develop, document, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use.
  • Provide backup administration support to other teammates.
  • Provide after-hours support.
  • Other duties as assigned
