About The Position

Commissionaires BC is a Canadian, not-for-profit security/enforcement organization established in 1927. Our mission is to support those who have served and continue to serve our communities and country. We provide security services across more than 200 sites in over 110 communities throughout the province, serving clients ranging from the Federal Government to local municipalities, airports, industrial sectors, and commercial/residential buildings. Our guards are involved in both behind-the-scenes security and access control, as well as front-line customer service. As a Fingerprinting Services Clerk, you will contribute to the organization's financial success and growth by delivering Fingerprinting Services to clients, security professionals, and the general public. Your primary role will be to coordinate and manage the daily activities of the fingerprinting services office. This position is based in our Vancouver office and Surrey Central Mall location. We are seeking individuals for casual on-call (1-2 shifts per week) and part-time (3 days per week) roles. Our offices operate Monday to Friday between 9 am and 5:30 pm (8 hours per day), with Saturday shifts available in Surrey.

Requirements

  • 2 years’ experience in a customer service, retail and/or security role
  • Ability to successfully complete security clearances (Public Works level 2, requires 10 years in Canada)
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel between our Surrey and Vancouver offices
  • Professional interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work under pressure in a dynamic environment
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Strong administrative skills

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in a security related industry and issuing security clearances
  • OFA 1
  • Having a BC Driver’s license in good standing is an asset.
  • Multiple language skills would be an asset

Responsibilities

  • Efficient delivery of all fingerprinting service offerings including; police clearances, public works clearances, Scan to Digital service and future new offerings
  • Ensures that applications are completed accurately
  • Liaises with various institutions and organizations relating to clearances and fingerprinting issues
  • Ensures the security and privacy of all documents
  • Documents all services for invoicing purposes
  • Ensures accurate handling of all financial transactions
  • Liaises with fingerprinting lead division as required (Ottawa)
  • Contributes to the success of the department by maintaining general operations
  • Liaises with Supervisor/Management regarding the day-to-day operations of fingerprinting services
  • Investigates and resolves problems as required.
