About The Position

This position serves as a key administrative and operational resource within the Parking Division's Business Development and Client Relations team by supporting several of the Division's primary revenue generating programs. The Administrative Technician is responsible for overseeing the City's Meter Reservation Program, assisting with the Al Fresco Dining Program, managing the Division's ePermit system, and providing fiscal, administrative, and operational support to all seven sections of the Parking Division. The position coordinates customer service, revenue collection, permitting, compliance, audits, reporting, and interdepartmental collaboration while serving as the primary liaison between customers, business owners, contractors, and City staff. This role is critical to ensuring efficient program administration, supporting strategic business initiatives, and delivering high quality public services that directly support the Division's operations and revenue goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, customer focused environment. Experience coordinating administrative programs, processing invoices and financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and providing exceptional customer service is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, business owners, contractors, and staff across multiple City departments. A proactive approach to problem solving, continuous process improvement, and proficiency with business software and database systems will contribute to success in supporting the Parking Division's revenue-generating programs and operational initiatives. Under general supervision, the Administrative Technician performs a variety of technical and paraprofessional duties in support of centralized procurement, personnel, budget and administrative functions or in support of projects or programs; assists administrative and analytical personnel in researching, compiling and reviewing information; develops and maintains databases and spreadsheets.

Requirements

  • Three years of journey level clerical experience, including a minimum of two years performing administrative work or advanced journey level clerical work.
  • Basic principles of technical and statistical report preparation.
  • Basic principles and practices of research and statistical methods.
  • Modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
  • Record keeping and reporting practices.
  • Basic principles and techniques of personnel, budget and purchasing.
  • Basic techniques of project and program management.

Responsibilities
