Requirements

  • Equivalent to AA degree and two years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience, with additional work experience substituting for the required education on a year for year basis.
  • Two years performing similar duties in the City of Morro Bay or another agency.
  • A valid California Driver’s license and an acceptable driving record are required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide complex administrative support to a department head and departmental staff.
  • Prepare Planning Commission Packets and Minutes.
  • Process, manage, and track a variety of correspondence.
  • Update and maintain Department website including Planning & Building Division updates.
  • Maintain department files in an organized, easily accessible manner.
  • Manage the contract process for the Department.
  • Prepare public hearing notices and meeting legal deadlines.
  • Exercise technical and functional supervision of lower level secretarial/clerical staff.
