About The Position

This position is funded by a grant for a duration of time as defined by the grantor. Works under the manager's direction to perform advanced clerical and administrative duties in support of the manager, supervisors, and nurses within the Community Health Access and Navigation in Tennessee (CHANT) program, including medical billing, data entry, scheduling, and the analysis and processing of financial, statistical, and program data, while maintaining records and exercising initiative and independent judgment.

Requirements

Four (4) years of experience in clerical, bookkeeping, data processing, or statistical work; and a high school diploma or GED; OR Three (3) years of experience in clerical, bookkeeping, data processing, or statistical work; and one (1) year of college study (30 semester hours or 36 quarters).
Must be able to type 25 words per minute.

Nice To Haves

Medical billing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Processes medical billing claims and ensures accuracy of supporting documentation.
Performs basic accounting functions, including invoice review, petty cash management, and submission of check requests and requisitions.
Orders program supplies and maintains inventory and supply records.
Performs data entry and prepares correspondence, reports, and memoranda.
Provides customer service by responding to inquiries and addressing concerns.
Reviews and processes records and documents for accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures.
Compiles data from multiple sources to prepare routine reports.
Maintains organized filing systems and ensures proper records management (electronic and hard copy).
Supports office operations, including monitoring equipment, maintaining supplies, collaborating with staff, and participating in public health emergency preparedness activities.
Performs other related duties as required or directed.
