The Occupational Licensure Team at the State of Nebraska’s Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is looking for a full-time Administrative Technician to support health professionals across Nebraska.

Requirements

  • Coursework/training or experience related to research, presentation, or publication in an area related to the programs or functions of the employing agency; business administration; accounting; customer service; and/ or technical support work, including use of computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of experience performing administrative support
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Access and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of HIPAA or experience handling confidential documents
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to interpret and explain legal documents and state regulations
  • High ethical standards and integrity
  • Comfort working independently while seeking guidance when necessary

Responsibilities

  • Review and process licensure and certification applications
  • Ensure accuracy of documents such as transcripts and exam scores
  • Issue, renew, audit, reinstate, and inactivate licenses in accordance with state regulations
  • Prepare materials for board meetings and coordinate logistics as needed
  • Maintain and update licensing data using the My License Office (MLO) system
  • Respond to inquiries from applicants, licensees, and the public
  • Provide accurate information regarding requirements, statutes, and regulations
  • Perform general office tasks including answering phones, managing correspondence, and maintaining records
