Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One semester (12 credit hours) of accredited college work; or minimum of eighth grade reading comprehension level as evidenced by score on the Adult Basic Learning Examination (ABLE) test

  • Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable under agency vehicle policy
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to speak Spanish
  • At least two years’ experience working with individuals with developmental disorders and behavioral problems
  • At least two years of supervisory experiences

Responsibilities

  • Staff will maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful Trauma-Informed Care language
  • Serves as the supervisor for the respite group home along with program on-call duties
  • Supervises and/or prepares meals according to specific menus and diets
  • Responsibilities include supervising and training program staff, hiring, developing Implementation Plans, and monitoring to ensure plans are being followed
  • Responsible for implementing and monitoring crisis intervention plans for individuals who display aggressive and/or disruptive behaviors
  • Transports consumers to and from scheduled day programs, outings, appointments, and recreational functions as required. Includes transporting in cars, minivans, and 15 passenger vans, and maintaining the fleet.
  • Order, stock, inventory, and rotate food supplies to maintain sufficient quantities to facilitate the operation of the group home with household needs.
  • May require periodic on-call duties
  • Work shifts in respite/crisis respite
  • Determine schedule for staff coverage and clients
  • Adheres to TPC Business Code of Conduct and reports concerns if ethical and/or business standards defined in the code are compromised
