About The Position

The Human Resources Administrative Support Specialist provides administrative, operational, and customer service support to the Human Resources department. This position assists with HR processes, employee inquiries, records management, reporting, compliance tracking, and department coordination while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of three years of administrative work experience required
  • Advanced knowledge of administrative practices, procedures, and office support functions.
  • Must pass the Company’s EEI Support and Administrative Selection System (SASS) test, if required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suites including : Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication, customer service, organization, prioritization, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines and producing accurate work.
  • Demonstrated discretion, sound judgment, and ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to work overtime as required for outage and storm restoration, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • HR administrative experience preferred.
  • Experience with SAP, Coupa, Empower, Intelex, FileNet, or related systems preferred.
  • SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP
  • SPHR or PHR
  • CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist)
  • CHRC (Certified Human Resources Compliance Professional)
  • Labor Relations Certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources team, including scheduling, correspondence, file maintenance, reporting, mail distribution, telephone reception, and department coordination.
  • Assist with routine HR programs, procedures, employee inquiries, onboarding activities, training coordination, compliance documentation, and related employee lifecycle processes.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, tracking tools, databases, personnel files, and reporting materials in accordance with company procedures and confidentiality requirements.
  • Prepare, proofread, and format correspondence, reports, presentations, spreadsheets, and other HR materials using appropriate office equipment and software.
  • Support purchasing, invoice and purchase order processing, expense reconciliation, budget tracking, record retention, background checks, driving records, training assignments, and other department administrative needs.
  • Administer validated applicant testing, including EEI testing, as needed.
  • Use strong communication, customer service, judgment, and organizational skills to support employees, leaders, candidates, vendors, and external partners.
  • Support outage and storm restoration activities as required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
