About The Position

The Administrative Support Coordinator for Liberal Arts and Engineering Studies is a critical role, providing administrative and clerical support to an interdisciplinary program spanning the College of Liberal Arts and College of Engineering. This is a part-time (24 hours per week) position and is eligible for full benefits, including medical, dental, vision and CalPERS retirement.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated customer service experience with a high level of professionalism, including the ability to use tact and diplomacy, handle sensitive situations, and build effective working relationships with diverse populations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong command of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation, and the ability to write reports and present information clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to interpret, apply, and communicate policies and procedures, and to exercise independent judgment and discretion in situations where guidelines or precedents may not exist.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and analytical problem-solving skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple assignments, troubleshoot administrative issues, analyze operational problems, develop and evaluate solutions, and anticipate impacts across functional areas.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five years of general office support or technical experience.
  • Training at a vocational school or full-time college education may be substituted for two years of the required experience on the basis of one year of college education for 6 months of experience.
