About The Position

The Administrative Specialist III is responsible for assisting the Office Manager with departmental inventory, maintaining the cleanliness of the department office and library, assisting with departmental procurement needs, assisting Chair and Office Manager with various reports, maintaining the Anthropology website and directory, and taking departmental meeting minutes. They will receive, sort, and route all incoming mail and packages. They will also assist students with course registration, registration holds, and course overrides. They will act as assistant to the Director of Graduate Studies, providing support in all graduate student related processes. They will also assist faculty with office copier usage and submit all textbook and desk copy orders on behalf of the faculty. They will assist the Office Manager with faculty-related procurement needs. They will also perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Chair, Vice Chair, Director of Graduate Studies, and Office Manager. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
  • At least one year of specialized training in business management, business education, or a related field
  • At least two years of experience in a specialized or a related field applicable to work performed

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Workday
