We are seeking a reliable, self-motivated individual to serve in a full-time role for the employers and employees across the Commonwealth. This position is in the Office of Administrative Services, working in the Division of Fiscal Management, Processing and Payment Section as an Administrative Supervisor at the Education and Labor Cabinet. The position will be based in Franklin County.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Four years of professional administrative experience.
  • A master's degree in public or business administration or a related field will substitute for one year of the required experience.
  • Additional administrative, business or research experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the work of multiple employees daily by monitoring and filtering multiple administrative agency email inboxes.
  • Filters invoices to employees to process and reviews/approves documents submitted by employees daily.
  • Prepares multiple agency and statewide reports, revenue and expenditure comparisons, as required by statute, regulation or cabinet leadership.
  • Suggest changes in Cabinet administrative policy.
  • Trains employees and agency program staff as needed on accounts receivable and payable matters using software including, but not limited to, eMARS, Internet and general accounting processes.
  • Provides direct supervision, including approval of leave requests and timesheets, and complete employee performance evaluations.
  • Accept, confirm and review accounts receivable items on a daily basis for section employees to process.
  • Confirm and approve documents and provide revenue reports to departments and offices as requested.
  • Assists manager with preparation, review and submission of the Fiscal Year Closing Package for multiple departments.
  • Assist Operations with the Utility Closing Package.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
