About The Position

This role is for an Administrative Supervisor within the Nursing Administration department. The position operates under the direction of the Sr. Administrative Director Patient Care. The Administrative Supervisor performs various administrative duties, especially in the absence of the regular administrative team. This role provides leadership, direction, and support to all hospital employees during off-shifts, weekends, and holidays, particularly in the absence of Department Managers. A key responsibility includes overseeing the staffing of the Department of Nursing to ensure safe, high-quality care and fiscal viability while adhering to budgetary guidelines.

Requirements

  • A minimum of an AA degree from an accredited School of Nursing required.
  • Current California Registered Nurse license required.
  • Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards.
  • Current ACLS/as per American Heart Association standards required.
  • Four (4) to six (6) years experience, two (2) to three (3) of which have been at the supervisor/managerial level or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • New hires/transfers have 6 months from date of hire/transfer to obtain ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assume all Administrative functions in the absence of the Senior Administrative team.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to all hospital employees and departments in the absence of Department Managers on off shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Coordinate activities between departments within the hospital to ensure safe, high-quality care during evening, night, weekend, and holiday hours.
  • Ensure a safe environment for patients, employees, and others.
  • Maintain the fiscal viability of the hospital by overseeing staffing of the Nursing Department, ensuring patient safety and adherence to budgetary guidelines.
  • Apply restraint in utilizing overtime.
  • Utilize continuous quality improvement concepts to identify systems or other opportunities for improvement that require action, resolution, or referral.
  • Communicate in a manner that is effective, therapeutic, and serves as a model for others.
  • Ensure that the same standard of nursing care as required by the Hospital, JCAHO, State, and Federal Government regulations is maintained.
  • Maintain clinical proficiency and develop managerial skills by attending continuing education courses and remaining abreast of current nursing procedures and techniques.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • The hourly rate for this position is $83.86 - $104.83.
