About The Position

Saint Peter's University Hospital is seeking a talented and compassionate Administrative Supervisor RN for the Night shift. This role is crucial in ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient unit operations. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program of professional nursing.
  • Current NJ registered Nurse License.
  • B.S. in Nursing or working towards degree.
  • Five (5) years of nursing experience with evidence of progressive leadership experience.
  • Ability to attend Nursing Orientation Program.
  • Orientation to acquire necessary familiarity with Hospital and Nursing Service Department policies and procedures.
  • Good verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills in order to deal with management problems and interact with staff, patients, families, and significant others.
  • Prolonged walking and standing (over 90% of work time).
  • Ability to work with critically ill patients in emergency situations and interact with apprehensive families, which produces a high level of stress and mental fatigue.
  • BLS Certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

  • Receive reports and initiate patient care rounds on each assigned unit to assess care given, evaluate staffing patterns, and discuss any pertinent patient problems with staff nurse(s).
  • Act as a consultant, lend clinical expertise, and intervene as necessary in the assessment and performance of patient care.
  • Review daily staffing sheets and adjust staffing patterns as necessary for the on-coming shift.
  • Provide a concise, timely, informative report to the Divisional Director and/or on-coming Supervisor.
  • Communicate, interpret, and implement established policies and procedures.
  • Communicate to the individual Divisional Director and/or Unit Manager employee attitudes and performances, recommendations from staff, contributing factors that affect the level of morale, incidents that occur, and quality of patient care provided.
  • Work with the Divisional Director and/or Unit Manager in counseling, initiation, and administration of the disciplinary process in accordance with established policy.
