About The Position

The Juvenile Department is seeking a Bilingual Administrative Specialist II – Conciliation Team to join their team. This role will focus on scheduling clients, managing high-volume client interactions, contributing to a file digitization project, developing the client database, and ensuring clear communication with the court. The position supports the Conciliation Services Team, which works under the direction of the State of Oregon Courts, the Family Law Education Program, and Mediation services as required by Oregon Revised Statutes. Conciliation Services offers mediation, counseling, and co-parent education to assist parents with divorce and custody disputes. The Juvenile Department aims to provide fair and accessible treatment, involving families in decision-making and collaborating with community partners to support youth success. Programs include assessments, case plans, and addressing risk, needs, and behaviors, while also honoring victims' rights and providing opportunities for restorative justice.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience providing administrative or clerical support
  • Must be fluent in Spanish, demonstrated by passing a written and an oral proficiency test
  • Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check

  • Experience in client-facing services who can effectively engage with clients in high conflict situations related to divorce and child custody matters
  • Highly proficient computer user with advanced technical skills, including expertise in database management
  • Utilizes active listening techniques and responds with empathy and patience when managing high stress or emotionally charged circumstances
  • Clear communicator, collaborative team player, and highly organized
  • Demonstrates responsiveness and proactive engagement, with strong ability to shift priorities, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and exercise sound independent judgment
  • Demonstrates the ability to maintain professional and departmental boundaries during high pressure or challenging situations
  • Spanish/English bilingual skills
  • Possession of Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) or other applicable certifications may substitute for up to one (1) year of the experience requirement
