About The Position

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join our team in a high-level administrative role that supports leadership in St. Louis County. In this fast-paced environment you will be asked to pivot from one task to another while providing a high level of customer service. The typical schedule for this position is Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with a 37.5-hour work week. The incumbent may be asked to work 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. once or twice per week. The salary range reflected above is the normal hiring range for 2026. The full salary range, including longevity pay, is $25.43 - $37.03 per hour. St. Louis County does not participate in E-Verify. All employees must be continuously authorized to work in the United States , for St. Louis County, on a full-time basis. St. Louis County does not provide sponsorship for employment visas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Four (4) years full-time paid verifiable administrative experience; OR equivalent education and/or experience as determined by the Director of Human Resources and Administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate personal computer-based systems.
  • Proficiency in operating word processing software.
  • Ability to type from clear copy at a rate of 40 w.p.m./net.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be continuously authorized to work in the United States, for St. Louis County, on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Performs information processing and constituent service tasks.
  • Assists with special projects.
  • Provides administrative support to functions of the County Administrator and County Board members.
  • Supports continuous improvement projects and County communications.
  • Processes correspondence.
  • Coordinates appointments and administrative schedules.
  • Gathers information on issues and concerns for administrative action.
  • Prepares materials for County Board meetings.
  • Reviews and edits drafts of County Board letters.
  • Responds to requests regarding County services.
