Administrative Specialist I - Rehabilitation Casework Technician
About The Position
This Rehabilitation Casework Technician position is located in the Albemarle VR/IL Unit Office in Stanly County. The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative and casework support to the assigned Rehabilitation Counselors delivering services to individuals receiving Independent Living Services through the Albemarle VR/IL Unit. This position will work in collaboration with the Vocational Rehabilitation and Independent Living Counselors to assist eligible individuals with significant disabilities to live independently with their families, in their homes, and communities and achieve their identified goals.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; OR Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities
- Interviewing consumers and gathering diagnostic reports to assist counselors with determining eligibility and required services
- Assisting with developing written plans of services in conjunction with the consumer, parent and/or guardian
- Conducting in-person home visits with consumers for the purpose of assessment and service provision
- Documenting casework data and the provision of substantial services throughout the rehabilitation process in the case management system
- Preparing documents, filing, scheduling, inputting casework data, including invoices, billing documents, and correspondence to support consumer services
- Working with community employers/partners to assist in helping consumers live independently in their communities and/or obtain assistance with appropriate jobs leading to successful employment outcomes
