This position reports directly to and supports the Plant Manager. The Plant Manager and Assistant Manager may assign daily tasks as well as special projects. Responsibilities include operating multi-line telephone equipment, a fax machine, photocopier, personal computer, printer, and calculators, as well as maintaining both electronic and hard-copy filing systems. The position is responsible for placing requisitions and receiving goods in the E-Procurement system and completing inmate time entry. Duties also include collecting, compiling, assimilating, and organizing printed and electronic information using various Microsoft Office applications. The employee will prepare Weekly Processing Reports, Sales Reports, and Monthly Price Lists. Much of the work involves repetitive data entry tasks. The Moore County Recycling Plant, located in Carthage, N.C., was established in 1998 as a pilot facility to develop an efficient and profitable method for reclaiming highway signs. In recent years, the facility has expanded its operations to include the recycling of wooden pallets, aluminum cans, plastic, and cardboard. The plant also oversees four highway litter crews that collect litter along North Carolina highways. Collected materials are sorted, and recyclable items are packaged and sold to downstream recycling facilities. The Sign Reclaiming Plant’s largest customer is the North Carolina Department of Transportation. Sign Reclaiming supports the statewide recycling initiative and is known as Correction Enterprises’ “Green Machine” due to its extensive recycling and reuse efforts.
