The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is establishing a new Division of Child and Family Well-Being that focuses on supporting whole child and family health and well-being for North Carolinians. This division works to ensure that North Carolina’s children grow up safe, healthy and thriving in nurturing and resilient families and communities. It will bring together complementary programs from the Divisions of Public Health, Mental Health, and Social Services to maximize services and outcomes for children and their families, including nutrition programs (SNAP, WIC and Child and Adult Care Food Program), health and prevention services for children and youth, children’s behavioral health services, and early intervention programs. This position will transfer to the Division of Child and Family Well-Being this calendar year. This position will travel periodically between the Wilmington and Fayetteville Divisions of the CDSA of the Cape Fear; which cover 9 counties (New Hanover, Pender, Brunswick, Columbus, Duplin, Cumberland, Robeson, Bladen & Sampson). This position is responsible for all ordering and purchasing, entering and tracking Prior Authorizations and working with enrolled providers for the Cape Fear Children’s Developmental Services Agency (CDSA), a multi-program agency serving a multi-county region. As a CDSA purchaser, this position is responsible for completing all aspects of placing orders, securing quotes, clarifying product selections, adhering to deadlines, receiving items, gathering required signatures and documentation, receiving orders online and distributing items received after the Business Officer has approved the purchase. This position will audit and code accounts payable invoices and work with vendors to resolve issues as needed. Duties also include monitoring supply inventory and maintaining the agency fixed asset inventory.
