About The Position

With the recent voter-approved bond supporting new park improvements and facilities throughout Tacoma, the Capital Projects Team is preparing to expand. We are seeking dedicated professionals to join an established, collaborative, and high-performing team committed to delivering high-quality projects for the community. This position serves as an entry point into government procurement, contracting, data management, and reporting, and offers strong opportunities for training and professional development. The role is essential to advancing supplier inclusion efforts, supporting community investment objectives, and enhancing quality of life by contributing to the creation and improvement of public park spaces. Based on our internal equity review process, the starting hourly wage for this position will be $31.07 To allow for growth and salary progression the full hourly range is $31.07 - $42.54 . Requirements

  • 2 years of administrative experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Contract experience in a public sector/government agency with public works desired.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, maintain, audit-prepare, and archive contract and project records in compliance with applicable laws, policies, and public-works requirements.
  • Enter, track, and verify data using Microsoft applications and other software systems; ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
  • Maintain compliance tracking for certified payroll, MWBE utilization, apprenticeship hours, and related contractor requirements.
  • Communicate with contractors to resolve compliance issues and support timely processing of pay applications.
  • Assist with pre-bid activities, bid openings, project meetings, and contract closeout tasks.
  • Support roster administration, including processing applications, preparing documents, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Process a variety of project-related transactions, reports, and documentation, including financial and statistical data.
  • Update SharePoint, project webpages, procedures, and training materials; participate in assigned meetings, special projects, and record meeting minutes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
