About The Position

Southern Lumber is an 85-year-old family business that supplies building materials, windows and doors, and custom millwork to home builders around Charleston. We are growing and looking for an eager to learn, detail-oriented, hard-working individual to join our team! You will learn about our products and operations while helping customers with their orders as a specialty salesman, counter sales, or sales coordinator. Specialty sales representatives help walk-in customers (mostly homeowners) who need to place special item orders with vendors of products we don't have readily available on the yard. You will work with customers, vendors, and our receiving and shipping teams. Counter sales representatives help walk-in customers (mostly contractors) who are more familiar with our stocked products. You will create tickets, accept payments, process returns, and set up deliveries. Both of these roles often lead to a coordinator position. Coordinators assist our outside sales representatives in placing orders for builders. In all of these opportunities, you will be building skills to create a strong sales career with Southern Lumber. Hours are 7:00 am-5:00 pm, Monday-Friday, so you can enjoy your nights and weekends!
