About The Position

Mercy Fitzgerald, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for an Administrative Assistant to join our high-quality, Plant Operations team. This role performs a variety of secretarial and clerical duties to support the business operations of Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital. The position emphasizes recognizing and supporting the Mercy philosophy by demonstrating customer service to patients and families, payers, physicians, staff, and all other interpersonal interactions. Depending on the assigned department, the role may focus on reception or patient accounts. The Administrative Assistant will complete the patient access/intake process effectively and efficiently, including scheduling patients in Epic, linking patient accounts for new appointments, verifying insurance to determine eligibility and co-pay, and communicating appropriate information to patients and therapists. The role also acts as a resource for other staff and independently completes patient access/intake procedures. This includes obtaining copies of insurance cards, collecting co-pays, having patients sign and verify all pertinent paperwork, and placing ID bands on patients upon arrival.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year experience
