About The Position

The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented person to support a wide range of technical, administrative, and business management functions for the Nebraska Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP). The position will serve as the primary liaison with external partners and local agencies, coordinating with stakeholders and advisory groups to develop annual training plans that support the professional development of both NDOT staff and local public agency personnel.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in public or business administration, accounting, or any discipline related to the work assigned.
  • One year of experience in administrative, business management, or technical support work, including collecting and interpreting statistical, financial, program, or administrative data; or interpreting laws, rules, regulations, and processes.
  • Experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Two years of experience supporting or managing program budgets or financial tracking.
  • Experienced and Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of statewide training programs, professional development initiatives, conferences, and workshops for NDOT and local public agency personnel.
  • Implement annual training plans in collaboration with NDOT divisions, local agencies, and stakeholder advisory groups.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with internal staff, external partners, professional associations, and community stakeholders to ensure program goals and workforce development objectives are achieved.
  • Monitor program effectiveness, recommend improvements, and ensure alignment with NDOT’s long-term strategic goals.
  • Manage all aspects of LTAP conferences, workshops, and training events, including scheduling, venue selection, logistics, registration, billing, vendor coordination, and attendee communications.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage program budgets, including expenditures for events, training, and related activities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state requirements related to workforce development and professional development programs.
  • Conduct research and program analysis to support planning and funding requests.
  • Prepare reports, proposals, and recommendations for NDOT leadership and external agencies.
  • Evaluate policies, procedures, and program processes.
  • Oversee contractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of services and compliance with contract provisions.
  • Be responsible for progress reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accountability and transparency in the program.
  • Collaborate with NDOT staff, local agencies, and professional associations to identify emerging training needs and priorities.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to staff involved in LTAP program activities.
  • Represent the program at statewide and national transportation conferences and events, strengthening partnerships and advancing the program’s objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
