About The Position

The State of Ohio is seeking energetic, passionate people who enjoy the outdoors for the position of part-time permanent Administrative Professional 1 within the Division of Parks & Watercraft, headquartered at Mosquito Lake State Park in Trumbull County. This is a part-time position budgeted for approximately 1300 hours per fiscal year, with variable days/hours per week that may include nights, weekends, and holidays. The State of Ohio is a drug-free workplace which prohibits the use of marijuana. This position may be subject to additional restrictions pursuant to the State of Ohio Drug-Free Workplace Policy (HR-39).

Requirements

  • 1 yr. trg. or 1 yr. exp. in secretarial science or business office applications
  • For positions requiring technical terminology, applicants must also have 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in relevant technical terminology
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above

Responsibilities

  • Provide secretarial assistance by performing routine administrative tasks at Mosquito Lake State Park (e.g., boat registrations, docks, mowing permits, camping reservations, special event paperwork)
  • Provide excellent customer service (e.g., answer phones, screens & directs calls, greets visitors, gives directions, respond to office email account)
  • Organize and assist with special events at the park
  • Work with volunteer groups at the park by providing and collecting forms, updating special event calendars, as needed
  • Serve as liaison between park manager and staff
