About The Position

The Administrative Medical Director requires a DO/MD non credentialed and will provide clinical leadership and strategic oversight for the development, implementation, and expansion of a comprehensive Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) program serving rural communities across Southern New Jersey. This role will lead the creation of innovative care models that improve access to preventive, behavioral health, specialty, and care coordination services through community-based, mobile, and telehealth-enabled approaches aligned with the Rural Health Transformation initiative. The service area includes rural communities in Cape May, Cumberland, Salem, Burlington, and designated rural areas of Atlantic County. The Administrative Medical Director will build a sustainable regional network of services addressing identified barriers including specialty access, transportation challenges, behavioral health needs, fragmented care coordination, and digital inequities experienced by rural residents. The program will leverage telehealth, community partnerships, navigation services, and integrated multidisciplinary care models. A physician leader with expertise in autism and/or developmental disabilities who can build a regional Rural IDD Medical Home model combining community outreach, mobile services, telehealth, behavioral health integration, and specialty care access to create a sustainable Southern New Jersey Center of Excellence for individuals with IDD.

Requirements

  • DO/MD license for role
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in clinical program development
  • Experience caring for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience with an EHR

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with telehealth, population health, community health, or rural health initiatives
