About The Position

This Administrative Fellowship program offers a unique opportunity for individuals to gain comprehensive experience within various areas of the Community Health System. Fellows will be involved in strategic development of work plans and business opportunities, contributing to system-wide initiatives. The role involves collaboration with diverse teams including operations, finance, strategy, managed care, ambulatory care, policy, planning, and marketing. Fellows will also work closely with executive leadership and may attend various administrative, medical, board, and hospital meetings, potentially serving as a member. The fellowship is structured to provide a deep understanding of the organization's goals and strategy through executive meetings, shadowing, rounding, and project work.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or Public Health.
  • May be currently entering a required third year fellowship necessary to complete Master’s degree; completion within one year of hire or entry into job required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic work plans and identify business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with teams in operations, finance, strategy, managed care, ambulatory care, policy, planning, and marketing.
  • Work closely with executive leadership across the Community Health System.
  • Attend administrative, medical, board, and hospital meetings as an occasional participant, with the potential to serve as a member.
  • Foster relationships with executives and explore areas of interest.
  • Gain an appreciation for the roles of various departments in achieving business goals and strategy.
  • Shadow preceptors and participate in weekly debrief meetings.
  • Rotate through approximately 82 areas within the system for varying durations.
  • Shadow executive leaders for a full day after rounding through a functional area.
  • Identify and complete short-term projects to support departments and contribute value.
  • Undertake a larger, long-term project and/or an interim role within the organization during the final six months.
