About The Position

The Corewell Health Administrative Fellow plays an active role in shaping the future of healthcare by engaging in governance, management, and operations across our integrated delivery system. This fellowship goes beyond observation, fellows lead and contribute to high-impact projects that drive innovation and operational excellence. With a focus on program analysis, strategic planning, implementation, and presenting insights to executive leadership, fellows influence decisions that support our commitment to make health better. Building on the knowledge and skills developed in a graduate healthcare administration program, fellows will expand their expertise in leadership, finance, and organizational strategy while collaborating with visionary leaders. Requirements

  • Master's Degree MHA (Master's Healthcare Administration) or equivalent degree from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

  • Observes the management and operation of functions and entities within the health system including but not limited to: ambulatory and continuing care, hospital operations, financial management, health law, health policy, health insurance, human resources management, marketing and communications, program development, strategic planning, medical affairs, and informatics.
  • Attends and participates in administrative and director meetings, including those of the Corewell Health Board, Board Committees, system-level leadership, and regional leadership sessions with Regional Presidents.
  • Executes special project assignments submitted by executive and director-level staff, contingent upon approval from the Corewell Health Chief Executive Officer. Regularly engages in the analysis of current or proposed health system components and business units, presenting findings and recommendations to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Ensures all required documentation for activities within assigned areas is completed accurately and promptly.
  • Regularly meets with the Corewell Health CEO and COO to provide project and observation updates and reports.
  • Cultivates and sustains productive working relationships both internally and externally to the organization.
  • Participates in ongoing study to maintain the professional competence, knowledge, and skills required for assigned responsibilities, building upon their graduate education.
  • Ensures that patients, their families, visitors, customers, and team members are consistently treated with courtesy and respect.
  • Consistently displays teamwork and integrity in all professional activities.
  • Ensures that all work performed aligns with Corewell Health's mission, vision, values, and overall commitment.
