About The Position

The Administrative Director, SENCAP is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and supervising educational offerings for the SENCAP program. This role involves developing credit courses in collaboration with SCC programs and high schools, ensuring sequential course planning to maximize enrollment and student opportunities. Key duties include scheduling facilities, providing registration assistance, managing supplies and equipment, arranging instructional media, and recruiting/supporting adjunct faculty. The position also involves developing new credit courses at off-campus locations, partnering with admissions, and attending recruitment events. A significant part of the role is managing student registration, including creating the dual-credit course schedule, overseeing enrollment, and ensuring students have access to college services. The Administrative Director will collaborate with the Associate Dean in overseeing SENCAP Coordinators, supervising SENCAP Faculty Liaisons and Career Explorers, and organizing promotional events. They will manage the SENCAP 15-county territory, build relationships with various institutions and professionals, compile program data, and track enrollment. Additionally, the role involves mentoring new staff, managing adjunct faculty orientations, and maintaining positive working relationships across college divisions. The Administrative Director will also research best practices in career academies and contribute to the program's strategic planning. Technical support and marketing activities, including developing promotional materials, maintaining the dual-credit programs website, and managing departmental communications, are also key responsibilities. Finally, the position supports and promotes professional development for faculty and adjuncts, determines training needs, and actively participates in college meetings and committees. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field of study.
  • Three (3) years of professional working experience, which includes program planning, secondary/post-secondary teaching, community partnerships, academic leadership, dual credit, and/or administration.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, Coordinate, and Supervise Educational Offerings: Work with the SCC programs and the high schools to develop credit courses for SENCAP in a planned way. Particular attention should be given to planning sequential courses for high school students to maximize enrollment and provide maximum opportunities for these students. This includes scheduling on and off-campus facilities, providing registration assistance, ordering supplies, equipment, and textbooks, and arranging for instructional media and special facility arrangements. Actively recruit qualified secondary instructors, initiate the hiring process, and provide support to adjuncts by third-party faculty. Responsible for the development of additional credit courses offered at high schools or other off-campus locations. Partner with admissions and attend all events at SCC and high school locations.
  • Registration: Responsible for the creation of the dual-credit course schedule and all facets of student registration. Works in collaboration with registration to ensure student registration is completed. Responsible for managing enrollment, including requests for opening additional sections and cancellation of sections. Work collaboratively with the testing center, transitions, student disability services, and student advising to ensure dual-credit students have access and knowledge about college services while enrolled.
  • Program Management: Collaborates with the Associate Dean in overseeing the SENCAP Coordinators. Will supervise the SENCAP Faculty Liaisons and Career Explorers. Organize, plan, and assist with large-scale promotional events and other public relations opportunities for SENCAP. Supervise the SENCAP 15-county territory to provide support to high schools and coordinators to ensure strategic objectives are met with each partnering school district. Develop and maintain working relationships with multiple program divisions, K-12 institutions, business/industry professionals, and communities. Responsible for compiling program data, tracking annual enrollment in conjunction with Institutional Research (IR), and making it available to key stakeholders. Work with the Associate Dean on mentoring and onboarding new staff members. Manage adjunct faculty orientation and in-services, submitting regular college documentation, grades, no-shows, etc. Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with all College divisions and at all campus and learning center locations. Seek new and updated research on career academies to determine best practices and share with stakeholders.
  • Strategic Planning: Work with the Associate Dean and SENCAP team to assist with the development of the program’s Strategic Plan objectives and strategies. Gather information on the Strategic Plan annual results and reports. Work with staff to execute and implement planned strategies.
  • Manage Technical Support: Demonstrate mastery of and experience with technology and the ability to work with technical support personnel within and outside the college to achieve the College’s objectives. Will assist programs in using the mobile technology where needed throughout the college.
  • Market Program Activities: Plan and develop promotional materials to create awareness about SCC dual credit programs. Must maintain the dual-credit programs website with accurate information and content, and the annual newsletter in coordination with the Marketing and Communications staff. Responsible for the creation and management of the department’s communication with students, including regroup messaging, direct mailing, and program acceptance letters.
  • Professional Development: Support, attend, and promote professional development. Provide professional development to faculty and adjuncts who teach dual-credit course offerings. Determine training needs from staff input. Actively participate in division, SENCAP, college meetings, and committees.
