About The Position

This position provides clerical, programmatic, and administrative support functions for staff, applicants and clients of the Winn Parish Child Welfare office. The Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) is working to keep children safe, helping individuals and families become self-sufficient, and providing safe refuge during disasters. This vacancy is located in the Winn Parish Child Welfare office in Winnfield, LA. The position serves as the first point of contact at the agency in our Child Welfare Office, creating a welcoming environment for clients and visitors and providing administrative support that keeps our front office running smoothly. This position participates in a Career Progression Group (CPG) and may be filled as an Administrative Coordinator 1, 2, or 3. The level at which the vacancy is filled will be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected. This position provides the opportunity to advance within this job series.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as Lead Coordinator for all administrative operations of the Winn Parish office.
  • Provides personnel support to include timekeeping duties, FMLA paperwork, and reports.
  • Provide receptionist duties
  • Serve as liaison between clients, families and agency staff
  • Performs duties related to purchasing of office supplies.
  • Provides direct payment support to child welfare staff and clients
  • Organize and maintain file room and files in accordance with established procedure and records retention policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned for the smooth operation of the office.
