About The Position

Texas A&M University’s Department of Physics & Astronomy seeks an Administrative Coordinator II who works under general supervision and coordinates administrative support, outreach, and events for the Department of Physics and Astronomy, exercising discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance. This position supports the planning, coordination, and execution of administrative operations, activities, and services; develops and maintains office procedures, reference materials, and resources; analyzes programs, projects, and initiatives to identify opportunities for improvement; monitors project timelines and resolves issues; and plans and coordinates meetings, seminars, and other special events to support departmental goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Planning and organization skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and supports the planning, execution, and delivery of administrative operations, activities, and services.
  • Develops, evaluates, and maintains office procedures, reference materials, and resources to support operational effectiveness and compliance.
  • Analyzes programs, projects, and initiatives; monitors timelines and issues; and implements improvements to services, processes, and programs.
  • Plans and coordinates meetings, seminars, and other special events.
