About The Position

The Administrative Coordinator I supports the Nicholson School of Communication and Media (NCSM) leadership, administration, faculty, and student success initiatives. The position is based primarily on the Downtown Campus with occasional responsibilities on the Main Campus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
  • All applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position, and the university cannot accommodate H‑1B transfers or employment-based visa processing for individuals currently sponsored by another employer.
  • This role requires the successful candidate to work on-site at UCF as their primary work location. On-site presence is an essential function of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the receptionist for the Nicholson School of Communication and Media (NSCM) Downtown Campus. Provide a professional, welcoming customer service experience for students, faculty, staff, and others seeking assistance. Answer general questions about Downtown Campus programs and direct prospective students, guests, and visitors to their desired destinations. Answer telephone calls and general inquiries to the NSCM email.
  • Provide administrative support to the Downtown Campus faculty and staff, including backing up other staff members as needed on both campuses. Act as IT liaison for faculty, staff, and classrooms by submitting IT tickets on their behalf when needed and working directly with IT to ensure tasks are completed. Provide general office support by ensuring NSCM space is well maintained, organized, and welcoming. Maintain office supplies, troubleshoot printer operations, and distribute faculty and staff mail. Provide parking pass information for guests of leadership and faculty.
  • Provide strategic communication and event support for NSCM, including planning and operational support for school-wide meetings and program-specific events (e.g., faculty meetings, End of the Year Showcase for Digital Media, student career workshops). Develop and distribute event collateral. Oversee event logistics and provide day-of-operation support (e.g., ordering and picking up food, setting up and breaking down meeting spaces, and other tasks as needed). Manage inventories for marketing materials and promotional items.
  • Create and manage content for multiple media platforms. Develop and distribute approved NSCM content on social media. Develop recruiting and marketing materials, academic program flyers, multimedia content for meetings, events, conferences, and programs. Maintain the NSCM calendar of events.
