About The Position

This is a temporary employment recruitment reporting to the UCI Temporary Employment Services (TES) Department. The role involves overseeing daily business operations, equipment, office supply ordering, facilities maintenance, cubicle assignments, and key issuance/refunds. It also includes coordinating department room reservations, managing event logistics (catering, parking, travel), managing executive calendars, and recording/synthesizing biweekly faculty meeting minutes. The position requires submitting department purchasing and reimbursement requests in accordance with university policies, and drafting/sending department-wide correspondence. In collaboration with EECS staff, the role will direct and monitor student employee work assignments.

Requirements

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a proven customer-service orientation across diverse campus populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or collaboratively, applying sound judgment and discretion with confidential information.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to multitask, prioritize, and execute duties with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English.
  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Zoom, DocuSign, SharePoint, and Google Workspace applications.
  • Familiarity with UCI policy and training frameworks related to Travel, Entertainment, Purchasing, Cash Handling, and GECs.
  • Previous experience supporting faculty leadership or working within higher education administration.
