We are looking for a Administrative Branch Manager in our, Office of Agricultural Marketing, Education and Outreach Division, Agricultural Education Branch.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Five years of professional administrative experience.
  • A master's degree in public or business administration or a related field will substitute for one year of the required experience.
  • Additional administrative, business or research experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the supervision and implementation of all staff and programs within the Agricultural Education Branch with the Mobile Science Activity Centers (MSAC) to assure economical and efficient operations. Authorize overtime and leave, evaluates the performance of subordinates.
  • Directly communicate with schools on implementation of the MSAC and attends visits throughout the year to monitor staff and equipment and to provide feedback.
  • Oversee the implementation of the MSAC including but not limited to: create and review lessons based on data and feedback, ensure maintenance has been completed as scheduled, maintenance and care of equipment within the Branch is kept in good condition, communication with booked schools and groups is maintained.
  • Review and compile annual data report of the MSAC to provide to the department and invested groups including overseeing data collection from each MSAC Coordinator, a review of the MSAC experience from schools and groups and inventory of materials utilized. Provide insight for growth in the program based on data, seeks opportunities to modernize the experience for students, teachers, and other groups.
  • Communicate with key partners in the MSAC experience which may include hosting workshops and sessions at conferences or professional development, reporting results from the annual report, social media campaigns for school sign-ups, new lesson releases, etc.
  • Provide support to the Director for state-wide agricultural education initiatives.
