Requirements

  • Fluent in English, oral and written
  • 2-3 years of experience in customer relations or administration
  • Organizational, decision-making, and detail-oriented skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Able to learn and manage YMCA financial software
  • Able to operate office equipment with proficiency and accuracy
  • Applicants must have a valid Standard First and CPR “C” certification (or be willing to obtain one).
  • Applicants must already have a valid permit to work in Canada.
  • A Police Record check, not more than 6 months old is required.
  • Semi-annually, staff must complete the mandatory training for the protection of Children & Youth and submit the certificate of completion.

  • 1-year post secondary education preferred

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing day-to-day operations of the camp office (managing three phone lines, managing three Outlook inboxes, greeting clients, inventorying camp supplies, etc.).
  • Screening and interviewing seasonal camp candidates.
  • Assisting summer camp candidates in completing onboarding paperwork and online trainings.
  • Creating invoices for Y Outdoor Centre clients.
  • Overseeing funding applications, tracking paperwork and funding allowances.
  • Assisting in enrolling inclusion campers to the 1:1 support program (reviewing applications, registering campers for camp, following up with camper families, etc.).
  • Managing booking clients into the Y Outdoor Centre (overseeing booking calendar, completing data entry to CampBrain software).
  • Managing Y Camps Ottawa camper family communications via email and CampBrain software.
