About The Position

Classification I - 52 weeks - Administrative Assistant to Purchasing and Risk Management - 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. The district supports promotion of internal candidates. Provides clerical support to the Purchasing Department and related district goals. Request, compile and analyze quotes/bids. Process student/property insurance claims. Interact with vendors to review product samples and coordinate delivery schedules.

Requirements

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills along with attention to detail is essential.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, AS400 are required.
  • Pleasant and professional phone manners are essential.
  • Proven work record and desire to work cooperatively, positively as a liaison and resource with parents, district personnel, and outside vendors in a high pressure environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines and willingness to learn new programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Good attendance record required.
  • Understanding of the disrict's purchase order process.
  • Possess an understanding of purchasing procedures, state and federal purchasing requirements, and district policies related to procurement of materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Experience/knowledge of the preparation of bid documents including specifications, insurance claims and certificates of insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional, post high school course work in related field is preferred.
  • Prior secretarial/clerical experience is preferred.
  • Attaching transcripts, credentials, and/or letters of recommendation is preferred.

Responsibilities
