The Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS), the public defender agency for Massachusetts, is seeking to fill an Administrative Assistant position for its Public Defender Division (PDD) Springfield Office. PDD provides legal representation to adults in criminal court cases, including District and Superior Court. CPCS is dedicated to protecting the fundamental constitutional and human rights of our assigned clients through zealous advocacy, community-oriented defense, and the fullness of excellent legal representation. The agency provides representation in criminal, delinquency, youthful offender, family regulation, guardianship, mental health, sexually dangerous person, and sex offender registry cases, as well as in appeals and post-conviction and post-judgment proceedings related to those matters. The PDD Springfield Office provides public defense services for Hampden County, and it services one of the busiest courts in the Commonwealth. The office has new facilities close to the courthouse, free parking, and staff social service advocates, investigators, and administrative assistants.
