About The Position

The role of Administrative Assistant is a critical role to the success of FITT Scientific in our ability to serve our customers and employees. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and independent individual to handle the administrative duties in a collaborative, small office setting. Duties include but are not limited to: input and support in Defense Travel System (DTS) as the non-duty entry agent, scheduling conference rooms, managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, minor property management, CIO liaison support for IT issues within Ex Dir, assisting Ex Dir and ExPO employees with parking passes and replenishment of printer and copier supplies from NAVFAC supply rooms, ordering supplies, and retrieving classified documents from the NAVFAC SIPR and management of the Ex Dir safe. A SECRET security clearance is required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years’ demonstrated experience providing administrative assistance in a DoD program office.
  • Familiarity with the Defense Travel System (DTS).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with scheduling, providing customer service, property management and word processing.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with interruptions.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams and the Internet, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems, such as managing files, records and literature, designing forms, and other office procedures.
  • Must have experience creating, reviewing, editing & formatting large documents i.e. reports, manuals, etc.
  • Must have solid grammar and punctuation skills, including the ability to compose letters that are grammatically correct and properly formatted.
  • Outstanding organization and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal / written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and deadlines/time frames.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload (and adjust when needed)
  • Ability to compile data from records and reports and conduct basic review.
  • Possess a SECRET Security Clearance
  • US Citizen
