About The Position

The Administrative Assistant for the School of Innovation will provide general support to visitors, manage student information, handle school accounting, and act as a point of contact for purchasing and money collections. This role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to handle confidential material.

Requirements

  • Two-year degree in Business or Accounting preferred
  • Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Internet Processing Capabilities
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient use of Microsoft products, including Word and Excel
  • Sensitive to confidential material

Responsibilities

  • Answer and direct phone calls
  • Keep student information in the Power School application up to date
  • Provide general support to visitors
  • Use financial software LINQ and EPES for school accounting
  • Prepare school Purchase Orders
  • Prepare regularly scheduled financial reports
  • Develop and maintain a filing system
  • Update and maintain office policies and procedures
  • Order office supplies and research new suppliers that may offer better price points
  • Monitor school allotment budgets to fully utilize allocations without overspending
  • Submit and reconcile expense reports on a monthly basis
  • Act as the point of contact for purchasing (accounts payable) and money collections (accounts receivable)
  • Process deposits and check writing
  • Maintain records of school orders and inventory and follow up with vendors on shipment and delivery
  • Report to the principal to handle requests and queries relating to school business
  • Report to the district finance officer relating to school finance
