About The Position

The University of Washington Medical Center – Northwest – Social Work and Care Coordination and Utilization Management Department has an outstanding opportunity for a Administrative Assistant. The Administrative Assistant provides administrative and clerical duties in support of the Social Work and Care Coordination and Utilization Management Departments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, college courses preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years administrative/secretarial experience is required, preferably in a health care setting.
  • Writing/typing skills required, computer skills and training required, including word processing/spread sheet experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and handle a fluctuating workload.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with staff, physicians, patients, families and community.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clerical support for Social Work and Care Coordination and Utilization Management Departments by answering phones, managing voicemail, and responding to questions from patients, families, and community.
  • Communicate new patient information to appropriate personnel.
  • Set up and maintain departmental files related to HR requirements, correspondence, reports, memos, etc.
  • Inventory departmental supplies and stocks as necessary.
  • Prepare and submit requisitions, purchase orders, both routine and special orders.
  • Complete access requests and clerical tasks for onboarding new employees to the department.
  • Attend staff meetings, take and distribute minutes.
  • Open, as appropriate, and distribute incoming mail.
