About The Position

The City of Lenexa Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant who is motivated to be a public servant and join our team. The ideal candidate will be: organized customer focused detail oriented dependable This position works out of the Lenexa Rec Center Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. This position requires the flexibility to work some nights and weekends.

Requirements

  • high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • 2-3 years of administrative/office experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates travel arrangements for department staff attending conferences, trainings and seminars, including reservations, itineraries and expense reporting.
  • Submits purchase orders, processes invoices, prepares check requests and reconciles credit card statements.
  • Assists department and City staff with City-sponsored events, including contact with vendors, participants, judges and staff.
  • Compiles various reports and materials for department proposals and meetings.
  • Primary liaison for the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board and works with the Lenexa Arts Council.
  • Records and posts meeting agendas and minutes.
  • Orders, stocks and maintains office supplies to support daily operations.
  • Drives City and/or personal vehicle to perform essential functions of position.
