About The Position

Related is Hiring an Administrative Assistant to join our Affordable Housing group for our new building in Chicago! As an Administrative Assistant, you will work as part of a larger team to execute the initial lease-up of a newly developed property. You will support the Senior Compliance Manager and team in functions related to all affordable housing programs and applications, following all regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures, including all elements of Fair Housing. You will work closely with our top property management teams to provide exceptional service to residents across Related Management Company’s Chicago luxury portfolio; specifically, a major two-tower residential development at the intersection of Lake Michigan and the Chicago River in Streeterville.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of administrative, customer service, leasing, property management, real estate, or related experience; affordable housing experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional, customer-service-oriented approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel; experience with property management or applicant tracking systems is a plus.
  • Ability to handle confidential information, maintain accurate records, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to learn and follow affordable housing regulations, Fair Housing requirements, and company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule appointments and maintain tracking systems for initial lease ups, and/or general inquiries.
  • Maintain neat, accurate and organized paper and electronic filing systems.
  • Prepare and send preliminary applicant notices for lease ups.
  • Assist staff with preparation and distribution of lease documents.
  • Provide front desk reception coverage in the office, including answering phones and emails.
  • Assist staff with the handling of all applicant/resident questions and concerns professionally and expeditiously.
  • Provide general support to office staff.
  • Perform additional duties which may be assigned.
