About The Position

Maryland Works is a statewide nonprofit membership organization that expands employment and business ownership for individuals with disabilities or other barriers to employment. The Administrative Assistant will perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. This position will provide support to the managers and employees, assisting in daily office needs and managing Maryland Works general administrative activities.

Requirements

  • Ability to relate well to staff and board members of different races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, socioeconomic backgrounds, and religions.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, medium to high stress environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complicated information into clear and concise instructions.
  • Excellent organizational, time management skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Office 365 (specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe).
  • Ability to Commute: Columbia, MD 21046 (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Answer and direct phone calls.
  • Organize and schedule appointments.
  • Administrate multiple organization email accounts.
  • Manage incoming training and event registrations and honorariums.
  • Provide administrative support for onsite and virtual trainings.
  • Take detailed minutes for staff meetings and Vendor Business Partner meetings.
  • Write and distribute mail, email, correspondence, memos, letters, and forms.
  • Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports.
  • Develop and maintain electronic filing systems.
  • Update and maintain office policies and procedures.
  • Maintain contact lists.
  • Provide general support to visitors.
  • Act as point of contact for internal and external clients.
  • Accommodate requests and queries for senior managers.
  • Maintain shared office areas in an organized and functional manner.
  • Participate in the organization’s continuing learning on issues of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
  • Other duties as assigned
