About The Position

Provides administrative support to the Youth Development department while ensuring a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. Ensuring the program is supported in all operational aspects and helping to maintain a positive relationship with the schools, staff, and parents.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Two years or more experience in an office setting.
  • Knowledge of office etiquette including superior customer service and phone skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Ability to use office equipment and other office tools.
  • Have a flexible schedule that will include nights and weekends.
  • Great written and oral communication skills, following proper grammar and spelling.
  • Be organized.
  • Work an average of 20-25 hours per week.

  • Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reports directly to the Senior Youth Development Director.
  • Runs monthly reports and assists weekly with School Rosters.
  • Assist with maintaining records for staff hiring, training, and evaluations, for state licensing purposes.
  • Help to maintain updated program information and schedules.
  • Ensure effective communication of information with parents, participants, YMCA staff, and school personnel as needed while maintaining confidentiality where applicable.
  • Assist in the identification and resolution of problems to ensure programs are meeting YMCA goals and community needs.
  • Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical, disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies.
  • Have the understanding, ability, physical health, emotional stability, and good judgement to perform all aspects of the position.
  • Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
