About The Position

The Administrative Assistant is directly accountable to the Legal Counsel, Health Services & Legal Counsel, Corporate Services to provide confidential administrative support. This position supports, and contributes to, processes and practices to ensure the efficient operation of the portfolio, through accurate, timely and efficient execution of administrative support functions. The incumbent works closely, in a collaborative and cooperative manner, with all members of the administrative team to assist in accomplishing the Saskatchewan Health Authority's objectives. The incumbent co‐ordinates workflow with other administration support staff and, in their absence, may provide support services as requested.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience working in a senior administrative assistant-type role
  • Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by a recognized business course
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Advanced organizational skills
  • Advanced planning skills
  • Advanced interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of SHA governance/org structure/relationships
  • Commitment to a diverse, culturally competent, culturally safe work environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality including confidential information with discretion
  • Proficiency with a variety of computer applications
  • Demonstrated approaches to problem solving with strong decision-making capability
  • Knowledge & experience in minute taking & synthesizing information
  • Knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action
  • High degree of initiative, ingenuity & ability to work with little/no supervision
  • Ability to adapt to frequent change and work under pressure
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of the healthcare system in Saskatchewan
  • Excellent proficiency in editing material for clarity, accuracy and conciseness
  • Knowledge of First Nations and Metis history in Saskatchewan
  • Ability to be self directed and work relatively independently
  • Ability to work collegially, collaboratively and build positive relationships

Responsibilities

  • Provide confidential administrative support to the Legal Counsel, Health Services & Legal Counsel, Corporate Services.
  • Support and contribute to processes and practices to ensure the efficient operation of the portfolio.
  • Ensure accurate, timely and efficient execution of administrative support functions.
  • Work closely, in a collaborative and cooperative manner, with all members of the administrative team to assist in accomplishing the Saskatchewan Health Authority's objectives.
  • Coordinate workflow with other administration support staff.
  • Provide support services as requested in the absence of other administration support staff.
